Meet Aijalon and Lacey

6 years ago, the only thing that was on my mind was: what lunch was going to be that day or if Katie from 5th period was still mad at me for no reason. I was barely thinking about my future or things that I would like to accomplish in life. But these two chicas, have a plan for their future and are in the journey to reach it. Let me introduce you to Aijalon and Lacey, two ambitious teens that have big dreams and are accomplishing it.

Last summer I was privileged enough to be offered an internship in New York City, with a fashion brand that has changed my life. One of my responsibilities of interning there was handling everything that dealt with models for the upcoming fashion shows, and that was when I encountered both of these lovely girls.  Lacey was modeling on the upcoming New York fashion show and Aijalon was a former model for the company, but definitely one of their favorites. After doing research on them (I had to do it for the internship, haha not a stalker) I was appalled on how these girls functioned their normal life and their modeling life. They were so driven by their goals, and they're just teens. And that right there is an inspiring role model.

So besides babbling, I decided to interview them, so that you guys can know them at another level. Starting off with Lacey.

1.    Tell us about yourself: Why do you like working as a model? Why are you interested in this career?

I am a model, blogger, tee designer, and dancer. I like to keep myself busy day by day with fun positive activities! One of my personal favorite things to do with my time is travel!
I enjoy working as a model because it allows me to show my personality and creative side simultaneously.

2.    What are your greatest accomplishments so far? And what’s your biggest goal?

Some of my greatest accomplishments so far is my Child Model Magazine "Top Supermodel of the Year" title, walking in New York Fashion Week, dancing with the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall, and other totally rad things. My biggest goal in life is to be on the cover of Vogue Magazine.

3.    Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years I see myself living in Manhattan or Beverly Hills as a Victoria Secret angel with my own clothing line/business.

4.    What’s your favorite part of modeling?
My favorite part about modeling would be making memories that will last a lifetime.

5.    What inspires you?
My mother inspires me to be the best version of myself that I can be.

6.    Favorite role model?
My role model is most definitely Kendall Jenner.

7.    A quote you live by?
"Work like there is someone working twenty-four hours a day to take it away from you"
-Mark Cuban

8.    What brings you the greatest joy?
My friends and family bring me the most joy. Being around the people I love is the best feeling there is.

9.    What's the best advice you have been given?
Nothing worth having comes easy.

10.    What are some of your closet staples?
My fashion must-have is a jacket! I have a jacket to go with every outfit that I pair together. Bombers and military inspired jackets are my weakness.

11.    One piece of advice to your followers?
One piece of advice I can give to my followers is to stay true to what you want in life. Be who you want to be and don't let anyone waver you from your dream.

1.      Tell us about yourself: Why do you like working as a model? Why are you interested in this career?
I love modeling because it's so diverse with artists. From photographers to makeup to hair and designers... as a model you get a chance to be a canvas for their vision and their passion. It is both humbling and exciting to be part of the world they create. I love working as a model because it gives me a chance to be a part of other people's dreams and aspirations and in some small way, a token of their heart's work.

2.       What are your greatest accomplishments so far? And what’s your biggest goal?
I think one of my biggest accomplishments has been some of the national brand campaigns I have done. I was so honored to be part of Janelle Funari's of New York launch of her designs and the face of her mail cards. My biggest goal right now is to walk an international runway and get signed.

3.   Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years I will be 22( wow!) it's kind of hard to imagine that far ahead. I hope to be married and start a family, I have always wanted a big family. Also to continue my travels, I see myself moving around a lot and continuing my bucket list adventures.

4. What’s your favorite part of modeling?

My favorite part is always the people. I love to see what hairstylist comes up with, meeting with the photographers or the designer's concept on their design of a dress handcrafted.

5.  What inspires you?
A good song and a beautiful piece of art are simple things that inspire me. People who are passionate in their jobs and choose to share it with the world are right up my alley.

6.    Favorite role model?

My favorite role model is Malala Yousifazi because of her courage and her striving effort to advocate education for girls and women internationally.

7.    A quote you live by?

"What matters most is how well you walk through the fire" ~ Charles Bukowski

8.    What brings you the greatest joy?

Seeing others reach their goals, making someone laugh, watching sunrises and sunsets, cuddling my cats, a bowl of noodles with my best friend(:

9.     What's the best advice you have been given?

I had a mentor tell me once not to let people steal your joy. You can't control what others say or think, but you can control how you respond and what you answer to.

10.   What are some of your closet staples?
I collect Alex and Ani bracelets for every life event, so I am never far from my bangles. I love makeup and a good lip gloss, also I keep my charcoal and drawing pencils and sketch pads on me whenever I travel.

11.    One pieces of advice to your followers?
That the journey is always more beautiful than the destination.
