When you can’t get tickets for the Hirshhorn Museum for the second time, you should head to the National Gallery of Art as it never disappoints. Also, the artwork makes for a beautiful backdrop for this characteristic black and white look.
Although black and white looks aren’t always my version of the “sharpest knife in the cupboard,” the right accessories and silhouettes allow it to work out… Somehow.
A classic pair of cigarette pants were my first decision for this outfit. The shorter hem at the ankles is a great way to feel more of the breeze for warmer weather. Since I was going for more of a laid-back look, I paired the pants with my nude slip-ons sandals from HM. I didn’t want too much of the attention to be on my shoes, but rather for the spotlight to be on the jewelry. I could have gone with a standard white tee, yet that wasn’t satisfying enough. Instead, I went with a soft white shirt that was business in the front and a backless party in the back. For the glam portion of the look, I added a spark of color with these gold and turquoise earrings that I’ve had for two years but finally brought them out to play for the first time today! These round sunnies wrap up the look and to protect my eyes.
